“Barbara Scott is the human messenger spreading the word of light root in this world and beyond. I had the pleasure of meeting her at the beginning of 2026 when she traveled all the way to Costa Rica to visit me at my vanilla farm. She brought light root seeds and stories and we planted them in hopes that we too would be able to work with this wonderful plant that Steiner perceived to be important for the evolution of humanity. We watered the seeds and delighted ourselves in tropical weather farm work while at the same time trying not to pass out from the high heat and humidity. We hosted a biodynamic prep making workshop during her stay and Barbara taught us about using light root as a biodynamic prep. We stirred and sprayed our first and hopefully not last dose of light root that same day and we all agreed something felt lighter and more luminous. The light root seeds didn’t end up sprouting, perhaps we didn’t give them enough time, but what did end up sprouting was a beautiful friendship between Barbara and I. She is a wisdom infused soul that is eager to share all the knowledge that she’s picked up in her long and fruitful journey in biodynamics and life in general and I am so thankful to be able to call her a friend and colleague. And because spirit is always working its magic in the background, we ended up getting hold of some light root slips by way of my aunt, who had bought a piece to eat and ended up forgetting about it in the back of her cupboard. I am delighted to announce that light root is now growing in a small little garden in Costa Rica thanks to the efforts of Barbara Scott and the ancestral heritage of my Chinese family. What a time to be alive!”
