Hello Sisters and Brothers,
I wanted to share some of the adventures I have been on these past few years as I realize and re-invent myself in the many landscapes I have been in.
Currently i am in the southwest, Phoenix, Arizona after crossing through 7 states. I left British Columbia in early September and am still decompressing after the long journey.
First the writing– my books have been through many incarnations and have definitely developed a life of their own as I bring them forward from the highest perspective. Currently I am working on Transmissions From the Canid Nation and hope that it won’t be too long before it is published. After that I will start in again with The Joy of Biodynamic Agriculture.
Come spring of ’15 I will return to the land in B.C. to continue developing home and garden within a forested ecosystem. It is quite a challenge to garden in this habitat and son Wili has brought in some pigs who have done an amazing job of removing the roots and tilling the ground in preparation for gardens and fruit trees. Petunia and her girls are quite the amazing animals…I sprayed 501 in combination with light root during the summer and thought to spray the pigs. As soon as I did so they promptly went to sleep!
Since the fall of 2011, I have been stewarding a farm with several lush and vital gardens and hay fields. At the same time I have been building up simple infrastructure on the land for comfort, joy, and sovereignty. Some days, especially this past summer, I never quite knew if I would be writing, gardening or holding a pipe wrench in my hands.
I have become quite intimate with many tools and particularly hand tools as there is no electricity on the land. We have had a generator on loan and when it is fired up it is truly akin to a quantum leap in technology. As of yet there is also no road into the land, simply a trail. Everything that is on the land has arrived via wheelbarrow, or the cart including the claw foot bathtub that is visible in some of the photos. That is with the exception of the building supplies. This truly makes one think about the value of the item that you are lifting and transporting.
During the 2013 season an outhouse was built and the greenhouse was moved to the land in its entirety. The Westfalia and the wall tent, which I lived in during the winter of 2010-11, were both sold. And the ground was prepped for incoming plants and garden. Digging through Oregon Grape and SnowBerry is quite an act of acrobatics, which develops some ornery muscles!
The 2014 season has been productive at both properties with a woodshed and small bath/guest house in addition to the storage shed and outhouse. Son Nate and I built the storage shed in the summer of 2011. It has been 9 years since I left Aurora Farm and I once again have my own bed!
I have been mentoring a friend in biodynamics in the southwest as I pass the torch on with sacred agriculture in service to all.
Both years the gardens in the greenhouse and in the earth were beautiful and as always it is a blessing to be on land that has been tuned with the biodynamic preparations and principles to provide the ultra dense nutrition so needed at this time of the new Earth energies and our spiritual evolution.
2015 will be the year when we get a road and install a solar energy system. And I will begin to build a small home with an area downstairs for a cow as is the custom in Europe where the animals provide some of the heat.
I continue to work with the light root as a remedy for the land, the people and the animals. I am finding that it brings a balanced unified field which allows the biodynamic preparations to take effect with much greater ease.
That link is here https://soulmedicinejourney.com/articles/unity/ As quickly as I can I am heading towards my research on sensitive crystallization.
Of course I have not accomplished all of this alone and wish to extend my gratitude to everyone–friends and family–who have made it all possible.
May you all have a wonderful Indian summer and a productive and peace filled winter.
I attach an article I wrote for the current edition of the Biodynamics Journal this past spring – A Meditation on Conscious Composting and Christ Consciousness.
With Gratitude, Love and All Blessings,
Barbarella
